Michele Phillips, MD – Clinical Medical Director – San Antonio, TX
Dr. Phillips joined Health by Design in 2008 after serving in the United States Air Force on active duty for 7 years, and as a Flight Surgeon for the last 2. She comes from a small rural town near Dayton, Ohio, and was a nurse for 13 years prior to doing her undergraduate studies in Psychology followed by medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. From there, she completed her Family Medicine residency in Akron and is Board Certified in Family Practice. As the Assistant Medical Director of Health by Design, Dr. Phillips stepped into the role of overseeing our Health at Work onsite clinics in 2011 as she loves to promote and encourage health prevention as well as caring for patients’ chronic disease management. Outside of HBD, Dr. Phillips has been a long time member of the Christian Medical & Dental Association (since 1996) and is committed to short term missions serving with her husband, Scott (married for over 30yrs!). They are parents of two sons; Adam married to Nicolette (teachers), and Jason, an Internal Medicine physician. Her life purpose statement is ‘to love and nurture my family and those who God places in my life and show compassion to the sick and hurting for His glory.’
Pat Keith Patteson, MD – Clinical Medical Director – San Antonio, TX
Dr. Patteson earned his undergraduate degree in psychology at Baylor University. He is an AOA graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his family medicine residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas where he served as chief resident of the program. After residency, he remained on staff as a teaching faculty member for six years and served as the Associate Director for the residency program and the Director of the Family Health Center. He is board certified in Family Medicine and a third generation family physician. Dr. Patteson currently works at several Health by Design clinics throughout San Antonio.
John Hierholzer, MD - Concierge Program Director - San Antonio, TX
A native Texan, Dr. John Hierholzer was born and raised in San Antonio. He moved to College Station and graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University, where he majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Texas Houston Medical School and completed his Family Medicine residency at Memorial Family Practice, in Houston. Dr. Hierholzer is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is passionate about all aspects medicine including prevention and treatment of Diabetes, Atherosclerosis, and Dysplidemia. Dr. Hierholzer is also skilled in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Sports Medicine related injuries, including Orthopedics. He has served on several short-term international medical mission trips to Guatemala and Haiti. In his free time, Dr. Hierholzer enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer (of 20 years!) and their five children.
